Registered Provisional Psychologist

Haashir Ahmad Zafar, R.P.Psych.

Hi, my name is Haashir. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Counselling Psychology. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, and other mental health and learning-related challenges.

My approach to therapy draws from a variety of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I also have training in the Gottman Method and provide couples counselling.

I believe therapy should be individualized rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful and practical change. I offer therapy in English, Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, recognizing the importance of language and cultural understanding in creating a comfortable and inclusive therapeutic environment. I strive to understand each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals so that we can work together to develop strategies that fit their needs.

In addition to counselling, I provide psychological assessment services, including ADHD assessments, autism assessments, giftedness testing, psychoeducational testing, and other psychological assessments. I value helping individuals and families gain a clearer understanding of their strengths, challenges, and needs so they can make informed decisions about treatment, supports, and next steps.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy sports, technology, spending time with family and friends, and continuing to learn about psychology and mental health.
