We’re Hiring: Subcontractor Therapist (Calgary, AB – In Person)

Healing Journey Collective Inc. is expanding, and we’re looking for a trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapist to join our team as a subcontractor in Calgary, Alberta.

We are a small, values-driven private practice that offers in-person and virtual therapy services to individuals and couples. Our work is rooted in relational, trauma-informed care, and we are proud to support a diverse population, including many BIPOC clients and those in consensual non-monogamous (CNM) or other non-traditional relationships.

If you are passionate about deep, meaningful therapeutic work and want to build your caseload within a supportive, inclusive, and flexible environment, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a subcontractor position for a clinician who is able to work in person in Calgary and virtually across Alberta. You will set your own schedule, with required evening availability and optional weekend hours.

We provide a beautifully furnished office, administrative support, and a consistent stream of referrals aligned with your niche and experience.

Who We’re Looking For

We are currently accepting applications from:

  • Be trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1 minimum; Level 2 preferred)

  • Have experience working with trauma, including use of EMDR (completed or in progress)

  • Have experience or interest in somatic or parts-based trauma modalities (e.g., IFS, Somatic Experiencing, ART, etc.)

  • Demonstrate cultural humility and a commitment to culturally responsive care

  • Be affirming and knowledgeable in working with diverse populations, including CNM and BIPOC clients

  • Be able to manage a caseload independently while engaging collaboratively with the team

  • Be organized, professional, and capable of maintaining clinical documentation in line with regulatory standards

  • Submit a complete application including a cover letter and resume

Preferred (Not Required) Assets

  • Training in additional couples therapy models (e.g., EFT, systemic or narrative therapy)

  • Experience working with relationship diversity (e.g., polyamory, LGBTQIA2S+ communities)

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed somatic practices

  • Interest in ongoing peer consultation and professional development

Who We Serve

At Healing Journey Collective, we primarily serve:

  • BIPOC individuals and couples seeking culturally safe care

  • Clients healing from complex trauma

  • Clients in consensual non-monogamous or non-traditional relationship structures

  • Adults and couples looking for meaningful, evidence-based therapy from inclusive clinicians

Because our client population seeks representation, understanding, and safety in therapy, we strongly encourage applications from BIPOC clinicians and those with lived or learned experience in inclusive, trauma-informed care.
