Hi there
As a first generation immigrant born in Iran, I began my life in Canada in 1998. This background has given me a wide cultural understanding and breadth of experience that has helped me connect with people from all backgrounds and creeds. My education began with a degree in the engineering, where I learned to approach problems systematically and comprehensively.
My love of people and healing eventually led me into the realm of physical healing as a massage therapist, where I learned to approach the painful realities of life with an intuitive and client-focused approach. As my love for helping people heal grew, it led me finally to the study of psychology, the mind, and how to heal from psychological wounds and build a fulfilling and happy life, both for myself and my clients.
My Approach
I approach my practice of psychology with a blend of everything I havelearned in my past; from the analytical perspective, where I aim togain a clear and complete understanding of the problems clientspresent and dig deep into their roots, to the intuitive and humanisticaspect of connecting with people on the level of the heart, feelingour way through complex emotional difficulties with competence, and learning to develop and trust our innate intuition. My belief is that every individual seeking therapy is unique, and I endeavour to tailor my approach to each client's specific needs. My person-centered approach focuses on developing a strong therapeutic relationship as an important foundation from which all other healing can follow.
My specialties include:
- Couples and marriage counselling
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Existential Therapy (Managing big life changes)
- Anxiety and Depression
- Mindfulness-Based Practice
- Anger Management
- Men's Issues
Outside the Office
In my free time, I enjoy getting my hands dirty with my garden, exploring new places and increasing my heart rate on my bike, and pursuing my love of learning by reading. I also love to spend my time working to improve myself as a human being, and try to practice in my life what I preach in therapy, which I believe gives me first-hand knowledge of the difficulties my clients are facing.
